Songs of the City is an unforgettable evening of story and song thanking United Way supporters for their ongoing and generous gifts. This free event will bring together the community to celebrate the human spirit, generosity and the power of sharing personal stories and song.
Three local speakers - all recipients of United Way support - tell their stories of recovery from lives of profound need with help from United Way funded agencies. Each Story is followed by original songs written for and about these remarkable people by Canadian artists of the highest caliber: Jackie Richardson, Shakura Saida, Barbra Lica, Robert Pilon and St. Catharines' own James Bryan.
Woven around these stories and songs are other musical performances affirming and celebrating the spirit of giving, featuring a world class backing band led by James Bryan, including John Sherwood ,Peter Shea, Rob McBride and the Laura Secord Secondary School Concert Choir, led by David Sisler.
Songs of the City is a truly inspirational way to thank people everywhere for the unparalleled impact that their generosity has on their community.
